Glasgow Celtic among hosts of other clubs are scouting Icelandic striker Gunnar Heidar Thorvaldsson who plays for Swedish side Halmstad.
The 23 year old scored 42 goals in 67 games in Icelandic league football for IBV before he moved to Swedish side Halmstad in 2004 where he has managed 25 goals in 36 appearances this season including 16 goals in the league in only 16 starts and is the league’s top scorer – that’s impressive considering Halmstad were fighting relegation for most of the season.
Thorvaldsson has also been prolific in the UEFA Cup this season scoring 3 goals in 5 games including in both games against Portuguese side Sporting Lisbon.
Many clubs including Everton, Birmingham, Glasgow Rangers, Hearts, Reading, Hamburg, PSV and Marseille have had the player watched over the last month according to the players agent.
Its believed that Celtic are not pursuing their interest at the moment but will continue to scout the player the next few weeks in the UEFA Cup.
